Star of the Sea

Stayed at Star of the Sea for a little over a week with the family. Our stay was fabulous! The home is in a perfect location, not in Hope Town, not near White Sound but nothing is too far on the island, golf cart ride close. The house is on the older side, not as updated as the other rentals on the island but it had everything we needed. The pool looks bigger in the pictures (note it’s more like a plunge size pool.) One thing we felt that was misleading is the main house reads as 3 bedrooms BUT it’s really just a 2 bedroom with the twin beds inside the 2nd bedroom. We made it work but listing description is misleading. Dominique, the house manager is delightful. He was very attentive and helped us with anything we needed. Overall we look forward in returning to this home.

The caretaker was extremely responsive and professional. The house is outdated, however everything was clean and functional. We agree with another reviewer that more storage, like drawers, in the bedrooms is needed. The beds and linens were very comfortable. The beach view and access are second to none. The location next to On Da Beach was loud one night (Saturday) but otherwise not an issue. The house has a generator which proved very important, as there were multiple outages during our stay.

We've stayed in a number of homes on the island, and this one was our favorite. Caretaker couldn't have been any nicer or more accommodating. Great layout for our crew. Basically 3 separate suites. Small pool but perfect for cooling off. And YES - it has a generator. Great location - close to town and next door to On Da Beach. 5 stars!!

The home is nice, but needs a little equipment updating. The dishwasher did not work and the washing machine was not accessible unless you get the caretaker to open the door for you. The master bedroom does not have any drawers, only baskets in the closet, which are rusted and uneven. Knives need to be sharpened. It would be great if they had a couple of beach chairs to be able to take down to the sand because they have a wonderful little walkway to the ocean and it is so beautiful! They could also use a light out by the grill. All in all we had a wonderful time. These are just a few suggestions. The home was right next-door to on the beach so we were able to go easily and get drinks and lunch and play trivia and listen to their music from our homes back deck! Hope town is really accessible by golf cart or boat in and there’s a neat little pastry place you can walk to you for breakfast and coffee.

Star of the Sea is the perfect place to stay on Elbow Cay. It sits on the most beautiful part of the beach and the views are spectacular. The bungalow is in the traditional Bahamian style with exposed beams and high ceilings. It was clean and equipped well. The layout of the house was perfect for our family vacation and the additional cottage out back is so cute. Dominique, the caretaker, is awesome. We fell in love with him and he was attentive to everything we needed during our stay. He is a wealth of knowledge and knows everyone on the island, so if you need anything, he’s the guy to call! We definitely will return to Star of the Sea for many years to come.

Abaco Star of the Sea was the perfect location to begin summer.
Dominique is the best care taker we have ever had. He was easy to communicate with and greeted us with the biggest smile! He was kind and friendly throughout the stay. He worked with our golf cart rental and company we had to prevision the house with groceries and the check in was seemless. The views are breath taking! A great house for couples, families or just a private getaway! We have been coming to Elbow Cay for years and cannot wait for our stay at Star of the Sea next year!

When we arrived the house was clean. Dominque was great. We had a few small issues pop up, but Dominique handled them quickly. Overall, loved the beach, pool, the house worked great for our family.

We loved Star of the Sea. Dominque was very helpful & it was a pleasure to have him helping with all our needs . ( caretaker of the property) we rented boat from Island Marine I would strongly suggest. Everyone on the island is so nice. If your looking for a nice quite spot this is the place:)

Star of the sea is a great property. Excellent location! Every interaction with Elbow Cay Properties was very professional and helpful. Will definitely rent with them again and highly recommend it to everyone.
