MaineStay

Family of 4, with kids aged 20 and 17. Very happy we chose the quiet north end as opposed to in town or south end of the island. This house was right across the road from the Atlantic access (sunrises!) and less than a 5 minute walk to the Caribbean access (swimming is calmer and sunsets are gorgeous). We were fine to be inland given the proximity to BOTH beaches.

We were glad to have rented a golf cart (Low Cay Cart Rentals were great; $450 per week). We walked to town to pick it up on our first full day and returned it prior to the day of departure. Walking "to town" is about 25 minutes. No need to rent upon arrival since property rental company can/will pick you up and deliver you from/to ferry dock ("lower dock").

Highlights: well-appointed kitchen for preparing meals, large smart-TV for streaming located in a nice open living room, very nice bathrooms, hammock for lounging.

Lowlights/improvements needed: there are no beach chairs, no cooler, no beach toys (frisbee, ball, snorkel equipment, etc.).

Elbow Cay is a very chill and friendly place. If you're in town or north, you will get accustomed to waving hello to EVERY person you pass (on foot, on golf cart, etc.). South of town is a lot more populated and since the hurricane, a flurry of construction. Locals we met said they find it a bit over the top and sanitized. We still enjoyed our day trip to Tahiti beach, however.

We were grateful to return to MaineStay after each outing. Very comfortable and quiet!

Great experience on staying on the north end. House worked well for two couples for four nights. We rented a boat and golf cart and used the north dock which worked out well. It's a 10 minute GC ride to center of town and another 10 minutes to the south end but it we liked the quieter north end. No washer dryer unless you pay an additional fee for access.

there are not enough wonderful things to say about MaineStay! The home is very private & equipped with everything you need to have a relaxing stay. the caretakers were quick to respond to any questions we had and made transporting all of our luggage to /from the house upon arrival/departure a breeze. The house, the island, the restaurants and the incredibly kind people in Hopetown are truly a dream. Can't wait to come back.

Awesome, Tina and James met us at the dock and took us to the house. We had everything we needed, and they delivered a blow dryer.
