What a wonderful experience we had at Clearview! The house is perfectly situated to take full advantage of Hopetown. With a beautiful view of the harbour and lighthouse, and a stunning beach in the backyard, it gets no better!

The house is clean, kitchen is well appointed and A/C keeps everything nice and cool.

I can't recommend this property highly enough!

My family of four had an awesome week in Hope Town staying in Clearview the last week of June. Our ride from the ferry dock to the house was prompt and quick and the check in process was seamless. The location was perfect with easy access to the beach out back, and an amazing view of the harbor from the living room window and two bedrooms. We docked our rented boat at the Dinghy Dock directly outside the front door, which was amazingly convenient. The house looked and felt exactly how we envisioned it from the pictures and had everything we needed.

The property was definitely clean and well-maintained. The bedrooms and bathrooms and kitchen were quite clean when we arrived. We couldn't figure out how to get the oven lit on our second day, and management promptly sent a man to take a look and show us how to light the pilot. Snorkeling at the reef on the beach out back was easy and fun, which the kids loved. The path to the beach could maybe use a quick clean up and/or widening, as it was narrow trek through and around a palm tree, but nothing that stopped us from enjoying the beach being so close.

We visited most everywhere and loved all the experiences! Tahiti Beach was one of our favorite spots to go hang out, and snorkeling at Mermaid Reef was fun! Captain Jack's for close food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dinner at Hope Town Inn and Marina and also the Abaco Inn further south on Elbow Cay were our favorite dinner spots. They can pick you up in their shuttle of ferry if you call and ask them. Climb the lighthouse and visit its gift shop! Skoops N Tings was also amazing for lunch sandwiches to take on the boat or beach, but they also have breakfast, coffee, ice cream etc. and it was all delicious. We went there a bunch of times.

We would without a doubt recommend Clearview to family and friends visiting Hope Town!

Location of the house was just perfect. Great view of the lighthouse and harbor. The beach access was right behind the house. We loved hanging out on the porch, which had more privacy than we thought. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us to spread out. We cooked breakfast every morning and dinner almost every night, the kitchen had great supply of everything you would need. We always love staying right in town.

Needs updating urgently:
10 chairs are available in the house between the dining table and outside seating. 2 of the chairs have unnailed seats, 2 have exposed staples, 1 chair is completely unusable due to damage.

Toaster - shocks users
Coffee maker - leaks
Microwave- plate does not rotate, cooks unevenly
Backdoor - no handle to close from outside
Beach path - covered in overgrowth, mattress and trash

Pros: tv, internet is strong and reliable, towels are plentiful and new, sheets/pillows, best location on the island!

Clearview is a gem! It was perfect for our long weekend, conveniently located for easy walking to shops, Cap'n Jacks, Vernon's and the post office dock where you park your golf cart. You can't see the beach, but you can definitely hear it and that's always a plus. The harbor views were excellent, and the home has a VHF radio in the kitchen so you can hear all the marine chatter and gets tips and sip sip from locals and visiting boats. It was comfortable and clean, we'd definitely stay there again. **Power went out island wide but we stayed on, hurrah for solar!

We have stayed at Clearview for many years and it is one of our favorite HT homes! Perfect location in Hopetown, close to dock and Capt Jacks, liquor store. Easy stroll to Vernon’s grocery store with fresh banana bread! Views of the harbor and lighthouse from the front and beautiful ocean access from the back! Very clean and well maintained and house managers are very helpful if you have any questions. Perfect for families or couples traveling together.

Perfect location for Sunrise or Sunset! Hilary was amazing, thank you Elbow Cay Properties for over 20 years of service!

We were so happy to be able to return to Hope Town! We had watched the tragedy that was Dorian and had been waiting for the island to be ready to support guests again. Elbow Cay rentals was the first agency with homes available for rent.

While their website was being updated, Carrie sent me dozens of emails answering every question about properties, locations, amenities, prices. She was so helpful. Once we booked Clearview, Brittany then answered my every last mundane question about how things were open and operating on the island.

The house is absolutely in the perfect location with access to town, stores, the sailing club dock, the clinic. Everything.

In addition to the location, the fabulous porch was a deciding factor in choosing Clearview. We enjoyed hanging out on the porch in the morning drinking coffee and exchanging well wishes with all the Bahamians passing by. There are no people friendlier than the Bahamians. And after a long day on the boat, the porch was the perfect location to relax and drink a Sands Light while watching the sunset.

Clearview is one of the few houses that was somewhat spared by Dorian, so it has not been rebuilt from the ground up. So if you're looking for a brand new house with flashy new fixtures, new furniture, etc. this may not be your choice. But if you want the perfect, quaint beach house with amazing views, easy access, and all the comforts of home, don't hesitate.

We certainly hope to return soon.

We had a wonderful time. The view was great. We would really love to rent again when we return. The only problem was that the generator did not work when the power went off in the evening for two hours.
