Clearview

Clearview is a gem! It was perfect for our long weekend, conveniently located for easy walking to shops, Cap'n Jacks, Vernon's and the post office dock where you park your golf cart. You can't see the beach, but you can definitely hear it and that's always a plus. The harbor views were excellent, and the home has a VHF radio in the kitchen so you can hear all the marine chatter and gets tips and sip sip from locals and visiting boats. It was comfortable and clean, we'd definitely stay there again. **Power went out island wide but we stayed on, hurrah for solar!

We have stayed at Clearview for many years and it is one of our favorite HT homes! Perfect location in Hopetown, close to dock and Capt Jacks, liquor store. Easy stroll to Vernon’s grocery store with fresh banana bread! Views of the harbor and lighthouse from the front and beautiful ocean access from the back! Very clean and well maintained and house managers are very helpful if you have any questions. Perfect for families or couples traveling together.

Perfect location for Sunrise or Sunset! Hilary was amazing, thank you Elbow Cay Properties for over 20 years of service!

We were so happy to be able to return to Hope Town! We had watched the tragedy that was Dorian and had been waiting for the island to be ready to support guests again. Elbow Cay rentals was the first agency with homes available for rent.

While their website was being updated, Carrie sent me dozens of emails answering every question about properties, locations, amenities, prices. She was so helpful. Once we booked Clearview, Brittany then answered my every last mundane question about how things were open and operating on the island.

The house is absolutely in the perfect location with access to town, stores, the sailing club dock, the clinic. Everything.

In addition to the location, the fabulous porch was a deciding factor in choosing Clearview. We enjoyed hanging out on the porch in the morning drinking coffee and exchanging well wishes with all the Bahamians passing by. There are no people friendlier than the Bahamians. And after a long day on the boat, the porch was the perfect location to relax and drink a Sands Light while watching the sunset.

Clearview is one of the few houses that was somewhat spared by Dorian, so it has not been rebuilt from the ground up. So if you're looking for a brand new house with flashy new fixtures, new furniture, etc. this may not be your choice. But if you want the perfect, quaint beach house with amazing views, easy access, and all the comforts of home, don't hesitate.

We certainly hope to return soon.

We had a wonderful time. The view was great. We would really love to rent again when we return. The only problem was that the generator did not work when the power went off in the evening for two hours.
