We had a very smooth reservation, arrival and stay at The Boat House. Elbow Cay Properties contacted us several times before and during our stay to give us arrival instructions and to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. The house is charming, comfortable and had almost everything that we needed. We could have used a few blankets for beds (as opposed to throws for the couch) on the first couple of nights that were cool. We appreciated the towels and kitchen gear. Some softer/lower pillows would have been nice. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and recommend The Boat House for a group of 4!

We rented the house with another couple to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The house was clean, well provisioned, and well built. The automatic whole house generator was appreciated as the power went out frequently. The location was convenient to restaurants and other shopping.

My husband and 2 teenagers planned a very last minute trip to Elbow Cay. They said the house was even nicer than the pictures, they absolutely loved it! Perfect location in Hope Town, so convenient!! Would definitely recommend!

Stayed here for a month so opinions may be different from short term vacationers.
The Boathouse is a great 2 bedroom house with beautiful nautical decor and quality furnishings throughout. Great architectural details and quality construction. Interior furnishings very nice and support from Elbow Cay Rentals spectacular. Very clean and all accessories provided. Nice sunset view from corner of deck.
Nice location - steps to ferry dock, Vernon's grocery store, Jack's liquor (best prices in Abacos), and 1 block walk to one of the best beaches in the Bahamas. Unfortunately steps to town's only pickleball court with noise 3 hours every morning.
1 mile hike to bigger grocery stores and On Da Beach bar. Hope Town resort has free shuttle boat in the harbor.
We rented a boat for a week which really adds to the experience. Probably better to do 3 days at a time to minimize bad weather days.
Negatives:
Should be aware that it's an 'upside down' house so good workout going up/down steps.
Unfortunate monster 3 story house 10' in front of Boathouse blocking most of the harbor view. 2 A/C compressors which seem to run almost continuously since their windows are never open. And continuous construction going on with it while we were there. To be fair, many of the in town properties don't have views but should be priced accordingly.
4 nice decks and a patio but almost total lack of useable outdoor furniture. We improvised by moving beach chairs around to whichever area was out of the wind and whenever monstor house AC was running, construction crews banging away, or pickleball popping.
Hope Town is a wonderful Bahamas location and one of the very few islands with a real local small town community - bars, restaurants, ice cream shops, boutiques, post office, church, sailing club, and pretty pastel colored cottages. 80% rebuilt since hurricane Dorian but still some destroyed property and lots of constructi

We had the best experience renting with Elbow Cay Properties. The home was just as described and perfect for our 6 night trip. The convenience of having the Ferry drop off and grocery store so close was great! Not a single complaint, we will definitely be back to Hope Town and would love to stay here again!

Very comfortable.Totally rework and squeaky clean. We could see the lighthouse just across from us. Four great decks.
